Indigenous Cultural Tour with Maitland Hill

Come on a journey through the Dwellingup Jarrah Forest with local elder Maitland Hill and be emersed in local Noongar Culture.
Learn the significants of the six season how Noongar people used the changing of these seasons to herald their move to new hunting grounds. Learn how Indigenous people used the six seasons as a calendar to measure where and what to hunt, and how this method ensured survival and sustainable use of their land.
Also be introduced to a number of traditional tools and discover many uses of plants and animals during a forest walk. The importance of totems in conserving species and sustainable management of the forest will also be discussed.
Billy tea, damper, and a sausage sizzle will also be happening on the day out at the timber getters hut. This can be purchased on the day at Reception. Cost: Adult $8.80 Child $6.60.
